Lately, I’ve been thinking about the message I want to put out into the world.
There is so much noise in our lives these days — from social media influencers to news outlets to that one Facebook friend that considers themself a news outlet. Sometimes I just want it to stop altogether.
But it can’t stop, I don’t think. There will always be stories to tell, and as long as there are platforms to share those stories, there will be digital noise to sift through. That being said, I don’t want to contribute to noise that weighs you down; I want to uplift, support, and advocate.
So, I took a leap of faith and decided to rebrand my business’s voice. I turned my tagline “Live Happy” to “More Than Pretty,” and here’s why.
If only it were so simple, right?
I suppose you could choose not to worry and just try to be happy instead, and I guess that serves as a form of self-care in itself. But how often can we really just choose to be happy?
We can’t. To “be” is to exist in a constant, continuous manner. But happy is not a destination, so striving to Live Happy is an unattainable goal.
Don’t get me wrong: I want my clients to be happy with the work I provide. Always. But I started to feel like my message was stale when I’d tell my audiences to Live Happy. A newly designed kitchen won’t make you continuously live a happier life anymore than going to the gym every day will.
Yes, the endorphins will be rushing and you’ll give yourself a better shot at a healthier life. But you’ll always have ups and downs; the happy will always come and go. This is healthy, and this is just life.
When we work together, I don’t want the end result to only justify a “Oh, it’s so pretty!”
I want you to live in your new space thinking, “Oh, it’s so pretty. And now it’s functional. I can move in here, create in here, and become my best self in my new space.”
There is substance behind our designs. It should serve a purpose greater than aesthetics because you have purpose. Your life is more than a pretty Instagram grid or mood board. There is more to you than the way your life appears. The space you exist every day in should be a reflection of your singularly special life.
As always, I will tell you that your home should serve the life you lead. If your family is your life, then your space should be fit to support a family and the many complexities of that. If you need a work space that fits your unique craft, then your space should meet you there.
Your space should be More Than Pretty, and it will be with my help. Trust me.
If you follow our social media accounts, I know you’ve heard the news:
My dear friend, owner of Patina at Home, is graciously opening her space to me for an amazing retail experience collaboration. We’re calling it (you guessed it): More Than Pretty!
The More Than Pretty retail experience is a mindset motivator and design compass all wrapped up in the unique storefront of the locally-owned Wyoming home décor and furnishings boutique, Patina at Home.
During the More Than Pretty pop-up experience, I’m offering special one-on-one time to help get your project started. I’d love the opportunity to get to know you, help troubleshoot the challenges in designing your space, and walk you through all that the shop has to offer. I’m certain that when our time is up we will have pulled a look together that you’ve been dreaming of, and you will understand the necessary steps in executing it.
Let’s make your space More Than Pretty!
